History of St Lucy Council 12542
Under the guidance of former District Deputy Bobby Calusa, along with the encouragement of Fr. Mike Roebert, pastor of St. Lucy Parish, Past Grand Knight Cesar Hornilla worked and paved the way towards the creation and establishment of Council 12542. After a series of organizational meetings among the original charter members, the Council was duly instituted and its right to exist was recognized on September 12, 1999. In its first year of existence the Council immediately garnered the “Star Council Award” from the Supreme council.
The following Colombian Year (2000-2001), the Council experienced the aggressive leadership of (Past) Grand Knight Ben Beltran. During the same year, Council 12542 was praised and honored by then KOFC Regional Program Consultant, Brother Frank R. Pulice as being the “Most Active Council” in the region.
St. Lucy Columbian Squires Circle No. 4622 saw its creation in October 7, 2000 with 21 charter members.
Recognizing the importance of the Knights of Columbus spouses, the Ladies Auxiliary Group became a reality on October 21, 2000. The auxiliary group served as the moral support and inspiration for the Council.
St. Lucy Council 12542 choir made its debut on November 4, 2000. It currently singing and serving at the 4:00 P.M. Saturday Mass.
On December 31, 2000, the Council started sponsoring the Century Raffle Draw, an annual major fund raising event for the parish.
